Mphatso Zathu Foundation in partnership with FOHOP, Chitani and Umodzi youth organizations visited the elderly

On 31st December 2021, Mphatso Zathu Foundation in partnership with FOHOP, Chitani and Umodzi youth organizations visited the elderly at Manessih, Kapeni in Lunzu where different assorted items were donated. The donation was provided to 60 people from 12 villages comprising of the elderly and people living with disabilities belonging to Tiwasamale CBO. The exercise was conducted in order to fulfil one of the core values, corporate social responsibility, which Mphatso Zathu Foundation embraces. The event did not only focus on doing charitable works but also mainstreamed climate change, reminding the community of the need to continue fighting climate change whose impact is now more visible than before. Present at the event was Group Village Head Kapeni, who emphasized on challenges that his community is facing due to climate change, hinting on the rains that are not coming leading to drying up of crops in the fields. He also emphasized on how he continues mobilising community members to fight climate change by planting more trees and conserving the environment.
